Rim Material

Our restock of rims is no longer arriving due to tariffs on the Hong-Kong based machine shop that used to machine the roughs.  Our margins on rims are such that just the tariff payment was larger than the economic value of the entire order so we've had to refuse shipment.  We're working on a solution, but for now I cannot accept any rim orders.

Rim + Cup combo pricing for our most common models bundled with a Titanium Rim R for a discount over buying separately.  We recommend 18 as a good starting place for most players and you have 30 days to try it.

G - For Geyer type horns, descants and triples; bright and clean. #19 bore, shallow cup.

GM - For Geyer type horns; maximum control of the tone color. #19 bore, medium-deep cup.

GS - For Geyer type horns; very smooth, rich dark for the studio.  #16 bore, medium-deep cup.

M - For general use on Alexanders; very smooth with good tone colors. #18 bore, medium-deep cup.

MD - For Alexanders, particularly triple & descant; bright, clean sound.  #19 bore, shallow cup.

LA - A fresh take on Kruspe mouthpieces for the modern studio player. #13 bore, medium cup.

C - Throwback to the Giardinelli C series; velvety but not overly dark.  #12 bore, deep cup.

H - For historic instruments using the smaller "French" shank.  #12 bore, extra deep.

Note: the former R 18.5 option is now called 18.25.  It's the same rim but when we measured out everything it was a little smaller than a true 18.5.  That said, nobody had ever actually complained it wasn't big enough, we're just trying to be consistent!
