On the success of the Model H which is optimized for 19th century hand and valve horns we're pleased to offer the HF - a mouthpiece for the extreme high horn demands of the baroque and early classical period.
The name comes from a review of a concert by the famous duo Palsa & Türrschmidt - the reviewer described it as sounding like a duet between a flute and a viola da gamba*. This is to play the "flute" half of that duo. Great for the Rosetti, Haydn, and Vivaldi and Bach concertos.
Note - This is meant to be paired with a period or replica baroque horn, it will work on later natural horns but it’s too open to support the extreme upper range to the same extent on later chromatic-focused natural horns. Can also work on sauterelle valved horns to give some brightness with the valve cluster added.
Offered in a #10 bore, medium-deep cup.
*And if you want to know what those duets looked like, they're public domain!
