Yamaha Shank Conversions

Turn an American / Morse shank cup into a perfect fit for your Yamaha dual-taper receiver.

We lathe the shank with a 1.25 degree taper, half way between the two tapers of the receiver which is close enough to both to engage firmly. It also corrects the insertion depth, giving smoother slurs and better intonation.

When buying new cups simply add this sku for each cup you want modified - you’ll get an automatic checkout discount to $10/cup. Please note, converted pieces are not eligible for return.

We can do this for any Giardinelli threaded mouthpiece, unfortunately we can’t do it for unthreaded or PHC threads as we have no way to hold them steady while cutting.  You are responsible for shipping costs to us - please reach out through our contact form for details.

Disclaimer; in the unlikely event of a 3rd party cup being damaged during the process we will refund you the purchase price of the conversion but we do not assume liability for the cup.  Instead of converting your rare or exotic cup, we recommend modifying the Yamaha leadpipe to receive standard cups instead.
