Comparison Chart

I've put together a chart to hopefully help clear up the positioning and characteristics of the various G-series models (and CV) as they play on a Geyer-style horn.

Your horn of course may differ in where it's midpoint is, and the CV likes to wander around this chart depending on the model of horn because its design differs significantly from the others.  However, this is my best take as a reference guide for how the models relate to each other on the average Geyer-style horn.

Links to the respective product pages:

C Series: compatible with many horns

CV - A rich balanced sound with an efficient feel. #1|#13 conical bore, medium-deep.

CR - A classic bowl-shaped cup with a fast response. #12 bore, medium shallow.

G Series: for Geyer-type & similar horns

G - Bright and clear in all registers, exceptional projection. #19 bore, shallow cup.

GM - Maximum control of the tone color. #19 bore, medium-deep.

GA - A control mouthpiece with an appealing, warm sound. #2|#16 tapered bore, medium-shallow.

GH - Free blowing with a wide color palate. #1|#13 conical bore, medium-shallow.

GS - Ultra smooth, rich sound for the studio.  #16 bore, medium-deep.

GD - Superior tone and accuracy when you're counting ledger lines. #17 bore, extra-shallow.
